Obama/Romney:  Far More Destructive Than Any Mere Storm

No matter how many people are injured and killed by Isaac, in the next 4 years both Romney and Obama will kill and maim many thousands of times that number.  Their senseless saber rattling ensures carnage by perpetual, immoral war.

Their unconstitutional Drug War fetish guarantees that in this nation alone each of these presidential mutts will ruin literally millions of lives per year— that’s if they only maim and murder at the current pace.  Each promises to get “tougher”.

The economic policies of these 2 greedy tax sucking mongrels will wreak true havoc.  4 years from now we’ll wistfully look back upon the fearful winds of Isaac as the good ole days.

I know not what course others shall take.   I’ll vote for a good and principled man like Gary Johnson rather than cast my lot with either of the rogues advanced by the duopoly.  Then, because that probably won’t be enough I will seek asylum in the nearest Ecuadoran Embassy not already harboring Julian Assange.

Compared to 4 more years of major party madness Isaac is happy, happy days.

More Came, More Saw and More Heard

[ The embedded video immediately below is the last portion of the event.  Rand Paul’s introduction and Ron Paul’s speech—FULL program Video links are at bottom of this post ] Embedded Video Courtesy of RonPaulFlix

At the bottom of this post we have links to video so you can watch the ENTIRE Ron Paul ‘We Are The Future’ rally held in Tampa on Sunday, August 26, 2012— the entire event is approximately 5 hours of viewing.

One of the speakers at the rally mentioned that Murray Rothbard claimed there was a time all libertarians could fit in his living room

It’s not like that anymore.

Mitt Romney wishes he could generate such excitement as supporters of liberty demonstrated again in Tampa.  As the photo immediately below indicates neither Mitt nor the GOP generates this fervor – Photo courtesy of Combat Veterans for Ron Paul

There Will Be a Comeuppance in November

Romney and the GOP establishment have beaten, kicked and otherwise demeaned the supporters of Ron Paul, those who support liberty.  There will be a penalty for that malfeasance.  Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party nominee will get some of the votes; some will go to Ron Paul (as uncounted but defiant write-ins) and some of those votes are going to Obama.  Very, very few supporters of liberty will vote for Romney.

Video Links WORK-Read Note

[ Note: the links below DO work. At the time of this posting, it’s right after the speech, and probably there are many people viewing so at first you might see “temporarily unavailable” when you click on the link—Just wait several seconds and the video should load and play normally.  The fact that there is so much traffic ought to serve as another grim prediction for Romney and the GOP establishment ]

Here’s Pt. 1 of CSPAN’s coverage of the Tampa rally, it’s preliminary speakers and music includes Jordan Page.

Here’s Pt. 2 of CSPAN’s coverage, more music and speakers includes Barry Goldwater Jr., Jimmy Vaughan and Aimee Allen.

Watch here for Part 3 of CSPAN’s coverage this has Carol, Rand and Ron Paul and of course includes Ron Paul’s speech

More Updates are below—This is a summary: We lost big.  Ron Paul lost by doing nothing to help in Nebraska.  Ron Paul supporters all over the nation lost because he did nothing.  The good Ron Paul supporters of Nebraska  did a good job, they worked long and hard.  THEY did work.

The Nebraska GOP Convention

Nation Ruled By Swine

Saturday, July 14th — all day–as early as 8am CDT

Live Streams will be Here and Here Streams provided by Paul supporters

WinLiberty Provided the following updates all day

UPDATES (most recent items at top) :

Omaha newspaper says Paul got “smoked” – because he did nothing

Ron Paul is the candidate who made the fewest campaign appearances of anyone running—BY FAR—and who did literally NOTHING of consequence to assist supporters in the state battles all over the nation.

Again, in Nebraska, he did nothing to help.  He didn’t even bother to send a decent sized crew of surrogates to Nebraska in the last few weeks and hasn’t done anything for 2 months.

Indeed, the good guys “got smoked.”

Romney had a crew of 5 shipped in specialists plus an attorney, all on hand to make sure it happened.  Ron Paul ALSO made sure it happened by staying away and doing nothing.

To the very good Ron Paul supporters of Nebraska:

Thank You!  You worked long and hard.  You did a good job.

(note, there was no Ron Paul slate being voted on here —the Ron Paul people did not submit a slate, the Romney side DID submit a slate; no way to tell how many on that slate support which candidate but it obviously looks promising for Romney —meaning, delegates might be “stealth” delegates who are expected to vote at the national convention for one candidate but actually support the other.)– UPDATE: There won’t be any stealth delegates; since the Ron Paul campaign did nothing but assist the Romney camp in this one don’t get your hopes up.

2:34pm CDT — They now are voting on Alternate Delegates

2:24pm CDT — (initial reports, not confirmed by WinLiberty) Romney won all 23 of the At Large Delegates

2:06pm CDT — Back from lunch, live stream working again

1:00pm CDT — lunch break; convention due to resume at approx 2:30pm CDT

11:21am CDT —  Romney over Paul 7-2 on delegates selected by district (9 delegates are selected by district)— Next up is vote for 23 At Large Delegates

10:59am CDT — Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana now addressing convention

10:49am CDT — Reince Priebus (RNC National Chair addressing the convention—neither Romney nor Paul attended the convention)

10:28am CDT — Now waiting for tally of ballots–

10:25 am CDT — RP side lost credentials vote 185-125-this indicates Romney supporters have a majority in the room.  Count is overseen by 2 representatives of each side.  First count by machine; second count is ‘overseen’.  There was no count from a show of hands, no count in public.— with just over 300 delegates present and voting, one must wonder why machines are necessary or advisable

Why the Nebraska Convention Is Important

This the last major state convention before the National Convention in August.

Ron Paul remains the only candidate whose supporters come out by the THOUSANDS.

WinLiberty continues to cover Ron Paul because Mainstream Media won’t.

They Will Seize Guns in Tampa-Despite State Law

Concealed Carry

Tampa City Council has asked that the right to hold and carry concealed weapons be “suspended”  under Florida law.  Since that “right” is ‘protected’ under state law and may not be violated at the local level the Democratic Party led Tampa City Council has sought to make this an issue by appealing to the Republican Governor to do it for them.  This is a stunt.

WinLiberty already has met this

The RNC WILL embrace this.  Part of this embrace is the complete silence on the part of the Ron Paul campaign.  They will NOT oppose this.

You can view one bunch of bs here.

The Republican Governor of Florida just issued a stupid assed statement saying he won’t back a violation of gun rights.  What he said decries who he is.  He Will back his stupid ass down once the Republicans in charge tell him to do so.  He’s only awaiting a “ruling” by the Secret Service.  That “ruling” by an administrative agency will come before the end of July.

It will come when there is no time left to challenge it in court and when our people are left defenseless on the streets.

This is how rights are stifled.  They are setting up a perimeter of 1,000 feet out based on line of sight bullshit which completely abrogates the rule of law.

Long standing federal law has held that protestors  MUST be visible to the public.  The essence of this law, these protections is clear to us all.  We MUST be allowed to know our neighbors.  How can we do that if we can’t see them?

This extra legal ruling will determine the perimeter of the events.  In short, this ruling is pre-determined and all among the GOP elite and, sadly, yes, Mr. Ron Paul and his campaign welcome it.

They seek to stifle. WinLiberty seeks speech rights.

WinLiberty is covering this and wants everyone to know there will be no marches in Tampa.  There simply will be no free speech allowed. They’ve already shut off speech to .7 of one mile, where they will permit speech to an industrial area well off the path of line of sight.  NO Ron Paul force is taking them on here, least of all the candidate, whose history is NEVER to take on the feds in anything they wish to do.

So you have these amateurs, these well intentioned people trying to organize marches which will be limited to the one out of the way industrial area sanctioned for a march.

Our Side Already has Lost

It’s going to work like this.  The Tampa City Council is distributing the 50 million taxpayer dollars to various city powers.  This is a grab bag kind of thing.  They are buying influence and that influence includes Republicans at the highest levels of that party.  They take these contracts AND they influence proceedings based on this money.

ACLU IS on this

WinLiberty is on this and very enthusiastically can report that the ACLU is on this.  That means legal help is available to those wising to march (well, maybe anyway).  The ACLU already has filmed the bs public assembly locations announced, doing so just the other day.  They’ve filmed the places under the freeway and out of line of sight of anyone attending the convention and this exactly is what must be done preparatory to a legal challenge.

We hope they make such a challenge.  Anyone wising to march needs to contact them.  IF you are down there and/or expect to be and IF you want to march and/or otherwise protest contact WinLiberty IF you wish to be noticed, if you wish your protest to be seen and heard.  We’ll try to help.

The RNC and Tampa Officials Are Lying Here

WinLiberty notes that the line of sight bs the GOP engages in here is directly counter to long held law.  THEY are saying it’s about line of sight to the frontage of the convention center when court rulings long have held that protestors must be visible to the public.

See, the way Tampa officials are interpreting the relevant law is exactly opposite.  They are saying that it’s about line of sight by the protestors when courts long have held that it’s necessary for the protestors to be visible to the general public.

That is the difference here.  Understand that and you understand a free society.  Miss it and you don’t get a free society.

THEY are saying hey, we’re going to let the fenced in protestors see the frontage of the convention venue and that’s it, that meets the free speech standard.  That’s not it.

The Secret Service has until late July to issue their ‘permits’ for the perimeter of the venue.  At that time, here’s what they will do. The Secret Service is highly unlikely to take on concealed carry directly as protection of that right is state law.  However, direct action isn’t necessary.  Who will challenge the Secret Service who is there to protect us?  No one.  Hence, the Secret Service, by their late July recommendations will ban concealed carry for a minimum of 1,000 feet from the convention frontage.

This, effectively, will tell you that any demonstrator group planning to “disrupt” the proceedings may be stopped and searched and stop and search they will.

WinLiberty has more to say about this and we will say it.

It’s a developing story.

Tampa Declares Most of City Off-Limits to Protestors

Chicago 1968 Convention BrutalityLike us on Facebook & Follow us on Twitter & Get our free newsletter

[This is a very quick note about Tampa/RNC officials and the newest attempts to stifle protests at the GOP convention—we WILL have more details soon]

Tampa Declares Most of City Off-Limits to Protestors

IF you are going to Tampa to protest the GOP convention or anyone or anything related to it be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.

Just be sure you know they aren’t planning to let you anywhere NEAR the convention.  They figure there will  be 15,000 protestors (they NEVER cite any reason for how they arrive at that number except that it means they get to spend 50 million dollars getting ready for that many protestors.   And they don’t cite any distinction between protestor and say, “activist”.   Basically, they are making themselves as free as possible to bust any heads they want, to lock up anyone they want.

IF you are there to do anything but embrace and kiss the butts of the ignorant, bigoted savages of the GOP  you could be in for some serious trouble.

Be sure to follow our series…we’ll have more detailed reports coming very soon, here’s just an outline of some more crap Tampa cops and authorities came out with today.

Today, Thursday, June 29th the Tampa City Council finally declared the 3 very limited and out of the way spots where some protestors will be tolerated.

Basically, if you plan to protest, Tampa says you are a TROLL

They are planning to confine ALL protestors to 3 fenced in sites, 2 of which are under freeways (hence, our “troll” reference) and the other site, also fenced, we haven’t yet got a good photo, but we will get one and put it here—anyway, that site is safely tucked away where protestors won’t actually be able to get much of a “line of sight” to the convention location…like, NO line of sight.

WinLiberty Will Continue to Follow with MORE Details Coming

It’s like this: there are many, many details of spending  that have yet to be made public or otherwise flushed out, but here’s SOME of the spending.  Many dollars for “fencing”, “chemical irritants”, swat vehicles, surveillance cameras, a temporary courthouse (possibly operating around the clock) JUST for meting out sentences to those arrested at or near the convention.

None of what was announced today is new; it’s been in the works for some time.  They’ve been spending much of the last 2 years trying to determine how to jack up the size of their police force by several times over (it’s being increased from the current, normal 900 to up to 5,400) for the time of the convention.

Ron Paul Supporters Won’t Have Any Help from Campaign-So Be VERY Careful

Neither Ron Paul nor anyone on his staff will be able to see any protests and/or protestors, much less lend help in the event of trouble—EVEN IF they wanted to help you they couldn’t.  And as we’ve previously reported, so far they’ve been tolerating and even approving abuse and violence by RNC types against peaceful, honest protestors and activists.

The Ron Paul campaign already has made it very clear they won’t do a damn thing even when their own delegates are beat and broken up at state party conventions or any other functions (like the brutality the RNC types dished out to Ron Paul supporters in Louisiana and which the campaign NEVER has moved to redress).

Despite obvious and longrunning efforts of the GOP AND Tampa officials to stifle speech, Ron Paul and the people around him remain silent.  The candidate and his staff are going along with the anti speech people who basically rule the GOP—at least they are not doing anything to oppose that element.

The Ron Paul campaign has said absolutely nothing to support speech rights in Tampa AND you can expect the Ron Paul campaign will continue to turn a blind eye to any abuses of ANYONE arrested and otherwise harassed in Tampa.

So, you need to be very, very careful.  The city of Tampa, the RNC and federal and local police agencies are stocking up on things to HURT people—they PLAN to lock you up and to hurt you.

As one example, some city officials already have said one of the cities they studied so they could model their budget after a “successful” convention was St. Paul, Minnesota.

That city paid close to 2 million dollars for EXTRA chemical irritants.  Most of these numbers are NOT being reported publicly.  Some of it is getting out, but precious little.  So, just know if you are going there are going to be literally thousands of extra cops there who are there just for one reason…to cause you trouble.

We’ll try to keep you updated.

[This is Pt. 1 of the WinLiberty series on the GOP convention-The Introduction is HERE]

GOP Smackdown in Tampa

WinLiberty told you the GOP convention is going to be a hatefest and there will be blood.

“There’s no place for the GOP to go.  They are going to bust some heads in Tampa.  That’s all that makes sense to them anymore, it’s what they know.  They are going for it.  It won’t be pretty.” John P. Slevin

At the Democratic convention in 1968 there was what has been called a “police riot”.

The older people couldn’t understand why war and murder of millions was wrong.

At the GOP convention in Tampa 2012, Ron Paul supporters will press the age old claim for justice.  The GOP isn’t going to like it and they are gearing up for trouble.

In 1968, Eugene McCarthy answered claims that he was a weird sort of Pied Piper who’d corrupted the youth of America while standing for those who chose to oppose war.

He answered them as Ron Paul answers for the youth of America today.

The Pied Piper

Ron Paul supporters are the McCarthy supporters.  2012 is 1968.

If we get enough support WinLiberty is going to be in Tampa.  We want to cover this convention. WinLiberty has a history of telling the Truth.  We told you the Truth about the Massive Crowds for Ron Paul.

Let us finish the story.  Help us with your contributions and WinLiberty will bring you the Truth from Tampa.  You can Donate HERE.

WinLiberty has told the Truth about Massive Crowds for Ron Paul and we’ll continue to tell the Truth right thru Tampa.

GOP Ready to Bust Some Heads in Tampa

[Note: this is an introduction to an ongoing series of reports]

The GOP Is Capable of Busting Many Heads in Tampa

Ahead of the GOP convention there are disquieting indications that Tampa and Republican honchos are gearing up to do some serious violence to people and the already tattered Bill of Rights.

Whether your trip to the Tampa GOP convention is to support Ron Paul, otherwise protest the GOP or simply to be a witness to convention happenings be very, very careful.

BearCat Swat Vehicle(The BearCat is one of Tampa’s Toys for the GOP convention in August)

On the one hand, the GOP convention is a coronation of Mitt Romney.  On the other, it’s a chance to grab more tax money and add to already overstocked police arsenals.

Tampa just got 50 million more dollars, courtesy of federal taxpayers.  The money may be used basically any way the city chooses so long as it’s supposedly for GOP convention security under the guidance of the Department of Homeland Security (which these days is top dog in major party security).

Already, the city has gleefully paid out nearly $300,000.00 for the BearCat Swat Vehicle pictured above (“BearCat” is an acronym for Ballstic Engineered Armored Response Counter Attack Truck).  That’s just one of the many armored vehicles which might well be roaming the streets as peaceful people gather to be a part of history in the making.

It’s not clear where “counter attack” fits into the equation.  How many conventioneers and/or protestors will be commuting, politicking and speechifying via armored vehicle?

The Republican host city also is adding new “eye in the sky” and other snoop technology for the immediate, express purpose of keeping an eye on conventioneers and anyone else in the area.

Originally, discussions included adding at least 2 unmanned drone aircraft to monitor Tampa from above, but that plan was scrapped in favor of upgrading video technology in existing police helicopters and providing live feeds to officers on the ground.

Security CameraTampa City officials and police acknowledge that at least 60 new surveillance cameras will be installed (locations are being kept secret) and that up to 4,000 additional police officers will be imported from other Florida communities to augment the 950 strong Tampa police force.

Tampa also has considered and even adopted some strange new ordinances to handle potential “trouble” in the streets, including a zero tolerance for gas masks.  Yes, even as they ramp up their ability to gas and otherwise maim citizens Tampa police are limiting defensive postures an astute citizen might wish to take.

Free Speech and plain old physical safety are not laughing matters.  WinLiberty hopes all those attending the GOP convention in Tampa will be safe and that all Tampa Police and assorted (sordid) other government goons will be restrained in their use of force.

Certainly, they’ve already damaged our public pocketbook.

Politics in America largely is a duopoly affair, and we don’t absolve the other half.  A week after the GOP confab the Democratic Party is holding a convention in Charlotte, NC.  And those jackasses also are up to no good with the constabulary in that city.

WinLiberty will be issuing periodic updates and more detailed reports.

There is A WHOLE LOT of spending going on…police arms and monitoring capabilities have been and are being added to police agencies in Tampa and Charlotte–all intended to limit and punish anyone with a fresh idea or who simply doesn’t fit in with the powers who control the two major parties.  It’s all very, very disconcerting.

John P. Slevin

Romney Endorsement Controversy Continues to Fester

Folks still are speaking out, many in shock at Rand Paul’s endorsement of Mitt Romney.

From a recent article on PolicyMic expressing disgust at the endorsement:

“It is important not to get caught up in an improper attachment to a political figure. When people show approval towards politicians who engage in what they know to be bad behavior, they take on the role of an enabler. ”

article by Michael Suede-original, unedited post HERE

To that list now add Tom Woods, who uses the occasion to suggest personnel changes at Campaign for Liberty, the organization founded by Ron Paul and which currently is run by John Tate.

Woods reveals he previously has warned Ron Paul against listening to specific (unnamed people) who Woods believes are responsible for some of the recent, confusing actions of the Ron Paul campaign.

As he has for some time now, Ron Paul remains silent.  It leads one to wonder who is in charge of the campaign (asylum).

Ron Paul needs to do what his campaign never did.  He needs to communicate with his supporters, directly and to the point.

This doesn’t have to be a big deal.  The people paid to speak for Ron Paul have made a mess of it.

He needs to speak for himself.  Below is one of our films, Ron Paul Passion.  Ron Paul can and must speak for himself, before lessers do him harm.

The power and achievements of what some call “the movement” and others call R3volution or The Ron Paul R3volution never was about the campaign or the candidate.  As WinLiberty films have sought to document, it’s about the achievements of The Many.  The supporters, the grassroots.  They are the people who have achieved what has been achieved.

It’s the message and not the messenger.

We are proud to have documented so much of the essential message and the massive crowds attending Ron Paul speeches.

See all our Ron Paul films here.

And please consider making a generous contribution to our efforts to record this history,.

Looking Past Tampa

This post is not to recommend any course of action but simply to inform.

Do any state GOP parties have recourse to put on the ballot candidates for president and vice-president other than those nominated in Tampa?

It seems there is (or was) precedent.

In the 2000 general election the Libertarian Party nominees (Harry Browne and Art Olivier) were not listed on the Arizona ballot—the Arizona ballot listed 2 others as the Libertarian candidates.  The following is summary coverage of that litigation from Ballot Access News.

——————————————————————————————————————-

Arizona: On September 8, Superior Court Judge Barry Schneider upheld the June 14 deadline for independent presidential candidate petitions. Browne v Bayless, 00-15468, Phoenix. The case had been filed by Harry Browne, Libertarian presidential candidate, on August 18. The day before he had submitted 22,000 signatures (to meet a requirement of 9,598), to qualify as an independent. He had not submitted the signatures on time because he had hoped the ballot-qualified Arizona Libertarian Party would nominate him, but it did not.

The Schneider decision was the first one which upheld an independent presidential deadline in June, since the U.S. Supreme Court victory on this issue in 1983 in Anderson v Celebrezze. Browne cited four precedents from other states which say that June is too early. Judge Schneider did not cite them, and based his ruling on cases from Virginia and New Jersey, both of which upheld June petition deadlines for office other than president. Both states have later petition deadlines for president. Judge Schneider did not seem to know that the two cases he relied on do not relate to presidential elections. The Supreme Court had said in Anderson v Celebrezze that states have a diminished interest in keeping presidential candidates off the ballot, than candidates for other office.

Browne appealed to the State Supreme Court, making sure there would be no confusion about precedents this time. However, on September 12, that Court refused to hear his appeal (no. cv-00-327-SA). Browne then filed a new lawsuit in federal court. Browne v Bayless, cv-00-1774-PHX-RCB. However, on September 22, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Broomfield, a Reagan appointee, rejected the case on jurisdictional grounds: (1) the federal court cannot take jurisdiction while it is still technically alive in state court; and (2) the case should have been filed sooner. Broomfield’s opinion is 32 pages long and is of far greater quality than the state court decision. It acknowledges the precedents from other states on June presidential deadlines, but never reaches a decision about the constitutionality of the Arizona deadline.

The constitutional issue will be pursued in the State Court of Appeals after the election.

————————————————————————————————————-

Obviously, each state party organization has bylaws as does the National GOP, and each state has relevant ballot access laws.

May a state GOP organization be compelled to accept a ticket its members don’t want?

It does seem to be an open question.  We don’t have information about any additional findings in the Arizona litigation.
